Greetings from…Dog Friendly USA!
Concord, Massachusetts
Concord, MA Historic Landmarks
On April 19, 1775, the American Revolution began at Lexington and Concord with a clash of arms known to history as “the shot heard round the world.” You and your dog can explore the battlefields at Minute Man National Historical Park and the Old North Bridge and witness the American revolutionary spirit.
Concord was also home to some of the greatest minds in America. Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Bronson Alcott, and his daughter Louisa May Alcott, lived, talked, and wrote in Concord. Many of their homes including the Old Manse, located near the Old North Bridge have been preserved and are open to the public.
Over the years, the people of Concord have carefully preserved the historic and literary aspects of the town and, in addition, have maintained a commitment to the conservation of generous amounts of open space and wilderness areas. With seemingly endless wooded trails, this is a great town to get out and explore with your dog. Your senses will abound as you romps through Hawthorne, Thoreau & Emerson’s old stomping grounds.
Downtown Concord Center
You and your dog are sure to make lots of new four legged friends in downtown Concord Center. These quaint little crossroads provide everything a town needs; including a gourmet wine and cheese shop, a handful of books stores, clothing, historic and native artifacts, art and much, much more. Not all stores are dog friendly, but well behaved dogs are welcomed to hang out front and wait for you while you shop.
